For over a decade, Derik has dedicated his career to perfecting his craft and uplifting others. His passion for hairdressing led him to Seattle’s Aveda Institute, where he graduated in 2008. Never one to stop learning, Derik returned to the classroom, earning his Educator certification in 2011.

As a Lead Educator and director of instructor training, he’s mentored hundreds of students, guiding them with the same passion and precision he brings to his clients. Nine years at one of Seattle’s top Aveda salons gave him invaluable experience, connections, and mentorship that helped shape the stylist he is today.

Derik’s career with Aveda has allowed him to blend his love for travel, education, and artistry. He’s guided students globally through advanced training, styled at New York Fashion Week, and attended hair shows and workshops across the country. Grounded by his Midwest upbringing, Derik approaches every client with humility and care – recognizing the importance of tending to their hair and their soul.
